Russian Solombalales, one of the world's largest producers of softwood sulfate unbleached pulp, is considering investing more 
than $420 million in building of a new plant for the production of pulp in Russia, according to the company’s chief executive Ivan Borodin.

The new plant is expected to be built on the existing site of Solombalsky PPM, while its projected capacity will be 400,000 
tons of pulp per year, which is two times higher the current figures. The company has also not ruled out the possibility of 
diversification of production through the launch of a new kraftliner line.

Currently JSC "Solombala Pulp and Paper Mill" remains Russia's leading producer of softwood sulfate unbleached pulp, 
and one of the world leading producers.

The current capacity of the plant is estimated at 240,000 tons of unbleached sulphate pulp, 7,700 tonnes of paper, as well as 
12,000 tons of wood chemical products per year.

The company's share in the world market of unbleached sulphate pulp is 10%, while in Russia - about 50%.

Up to 80% of the plant's production is exported to abroad. The pulp under the «Solombala» brand name is currently 
sold in more than three dozen countries in Eastern and Western Europe, North Africa, Southeast Asia, Middle East, 
North America.
